What should I say?

What do you say when you don’t know what to say? Sometimes what you say is not as important as who you are when you are saying it.

On today’s Bock Talk we used this quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. as a jumping-off point:

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

We also used this thought from Sai Baba as a signpost for our verbal communication:

“Before you speak, ask yourself …

  • Is it kind?
  • Is it necessary?
  • Is it true?
  • Does it improve on the silence?”
